Features already present in the game look pretty interesting so I look forward to whatever the demo leads to.

  • I would suggest decreasing the sprint speed since it bolts you across the map
  • Camera might require some work too since it moves around weirdly when you look at your character.

P.S. Fighting exploding chickens seems like an amazing idea if executed well enough.

Notes and suggestions:

  • sprinting is way too fast!
  • chickens explode too often, and the explosions don’t kill you
  • the aesthetic of the game is really depressing in a way that I’m not sure was intended: I think it’s the combination of the blue sky, the fog, and the fact that you have nowhere to run/hide, and no goal, which means you’re trapped in this grim world forever, as if the chickens from the real world trapped you in a simulation as a punishment for factory farming :)
  • I think I will have nightmares involving exploding chickens
  • nice explosion effects
  • the game slows down if there are too many explosions
  • add more things, the level looks way too empty
  • interesting sound effects could go a long way

I’m looking forward to seeing how you finish the game.

This one goes hard, please don't ever tone down the explosions and effects.

I feel like it could be a very cool game if I was fighting endless hordes of chickens.

I get that it's not the final product, and as such it looks empty, but since it's not a usual idea I think you could also go crazy with what to do with the scenery, I don't even feel like it needs to be complex, the simplicity is nice.

Oh yeah also maybe disable bullet collisions for the player?

Level Design:

  • Game feels very empty. You have no purpose (as in life) and now introduction. 
  • I like that a map is big and you have places to hide and climb.

Issues/Bugs:

  • Chickens don't die when they explode. If you stay still, it will continue to explode endlessly, I guess.
  • Also, no sound at all except of sound for blaster and steps. Consider adding SFX for chickens.
  • Lack of textures makes me feel upset :(
  • Running speed is way too fast.

Overall design and feel:

  • After some time you are just bored of shooting chickens and start to running on Shift like a crazy man. I can see this as a nice slasher like DOOM or at least Serious Sam if you add more enemies.

Level Design:

  • I like that the level is spacious with different buildings
  • Adding some background music is always nice, similarly with textures
  • The particle effects are nice, but the chicken explosions make my browser lag 😂 (I thought it was funny, but maybe you can look into what is causing it i.e., is it only because it's running in a browser or something else)
  • I like the aiming animation for the player; more animations, such as for shooting/throwing grenades, could be good.
  • I would increase the spawn rate of the chickens
  • The biggest thing would probably be implementing a goal, it could be as simple as adding a counter for the number of killed chickens, or adding things to collect around the map


Issues/Bugs:
  • Because I always back up a little before I'm ready to shoot when a chicken is close, I end up turning around, and because of that, my shot hits me instead
  • Not sure if this is intentional, but pressing shift applies the velocity increase while in the air, which is a little counterintuitive

Overall design and feel:
  • The sprinting speed is perhaps too high, though jumping and moving in the air with that much speed feels quite good. I think lowering sprint speed while also lowering the gravity could be fun
  • It was slightly unintuitive that the regular projectiles don't have AOE damage because of the particles. I think adding a little bit would make it feel better, even though grenades serve a similar purpose (maybe the argument would be that grenades are harder to aim and have a shorter range, while the zaps are precise but have a small AOE range)

  • The particles are nice.
  • The sprinting movement speed is nuts.
  • When you shoot, the projectile is launched in the direction the camera is looking, but the projectile spawn doesn’t seem to rotate with it and is locked to the front of the player, so when you shoot behind the player model it doesn’t travel at all and you just shoot into yourself.
  • I got stuck on a chicken.
